LS: What is your target audience you believe?
GP: Hard to say, but we find people from culture, music, advertising etc liking our work. I think what is common for them is that they are more than average interested in aesthetics (film, music, literature, design, art). Again, our main goal is not to be elitist. But as private persons we are very interested in things as mentioned. In that way the dialogue between us and the client can much easier be on a equal level, understandable. But we like to learn more, not only more on our personal interests and therefore we really enjoy working with clients that can be diametrical the opposite of who we are as persons.

LS: What do you hope people will get from your work?
GP: As a designer this is a question that really put you up against the wall because it proves whether your motives are good or no-good. I hope people see the work as something that

has a quality in itself and a place in the society as something that will last. And more important I hope people don’t see it as something important. There are so many things in the world that’s more important.

LS: Please, describe a typical day of work at Grandpeople.
GP: I don’t think our working days are any different than other design offices. We drink coffee. Smalltalking. Eating lunch. Working in front of a computer and hoping for mail that isn’t bills. But we usually have 10-11 hours working days. That is a bit too hardcore for us, but hopefully it will be in another way soon. A lot of free work going on at the moment, mainly for different projects and exhibitions we are participating in.
